Survey: Hungarians want to work after retirement age
Approximately 30% of Hungarians are willing to keep on working after retirement age as compared to the international average of 25%, insurer Aegon Magyarország’s vice president Gyula Horváth said yesterday based on a survey they conducted.
The survey reveals that although 30% of respondents expect to use their own savings to cover their pension expenditures, most Hungarians foresee the Hungarian state or their employers covering their pensions.
After reaching retirement age, Europeans on average have a life expectancy of 20 years while Hungarian life expectancy after retirement is 17-18 years, the survey revealed. Aegon conducted research in 15 countries, surveying 1,000 people in each. The survey was not representative.
