Survey: Hungarians expect to work as pensioners
The majority of Hungarians expect to work even as pensioners, and will have less time for leisure activities as a result, according to recently released data by OTP Bank, Hungarian online daily origo.hu reported today.
The results of the self-care index showed that typically the older a person gets the more bleak their outlook becomes on life as a pensioner. From the 1,500 participants surveyed, only 10% aged between 18-23 anticipate the need to work as a pensioner, while in the 62-70 year-old age group this increased to 27%.
Furthermore, 49% of participants plan to spend more time with their friends, while 44% plan to go on more trips, and 41% simply plan on relaxing.
The survey also showed that the answers varied dramatically between genders. While 55% of male respondents wanted to spend more time with their friends, only 42% of female respondents said the same. On the other hand, 49% of female respondents claimed they would like to go on a number of trips; this was only the case for one out of every three male respondents.
