Ukraine Inflation Eases to Pre-war Levels

The annual inflation rate in Ukraine decelerated to 8.6% in August from 11.3% in July, returning to pre-war levels, Trading Economics reported citing data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (Ukrstat).
Inflation slowed for almost all categories, with the most significant impact seen in recreation & culture (18.5% vs 19.1% in July), household appliances (7% vs 12.7%), housing & utilities (3.7% vs 7.3%), health (11.3% vs 13.7%), and food & non-alcoholic beverages (8.4% vs 13.3%).
Additionally, the footwear and clothing cost continued to fall (-1.2% vs -0.9%).
On the other hand, transportation inflation accelerated (4.2% vs 1.9%). On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices fell by 1.4%, following a 0.6% drop in July.
