South Korea Biggest Foreign Investor in Hungary - Szijjártó
South Korea was the biggest foreign investor in Hungary this year, as it was in 2019 and 2021, too, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Facebook early Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
"Korean companies have launched investments totaling HUF 1 trillion this year. Most of those are in the electric vehicle industry," Szijjártó said in a post from Seoul.
He added that those investments have made Hungary the "European champion" in the shift to EVs.
Szijjártó noted investments by W-Scope in Nyíregyháza, Volta Energy in Tatabánya, Shinheung in Monor, on the outskirts of the capital, and NEO TPS in Batonyterenye.
