Slovakia inflation increases in February
Slovakia's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.9% year-on-year in February, following a 0.7% increase in January, figures from the Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) showed on Monday.
Communication cost surged 6.9% annually in February. Prices for restaurants and hotels grew 3% and those for education gained 3.5%. Meanwhile, prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, and food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 1.1% and 0.6%, respectively.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.3% in February, same as in the previous month. Core inflation rose to 1.3% in February from 1.2% in the preceding month.
On month, core CPI rose 0.3% in February, after a 0.9% increase in the prior month.
