Serbia's real net wage up on year in May
Serbia's average net wage increased by a real 6.6% year-on-year in May, following a 7.2% annual rise in April, the Belgrade-based Central Statistical Office (SORS) said on Monday.
Average gross salaries and wages calculated amounted to RSD 89,720 (EUR 763) in May, while average net salaries and wages amounted to RSD 65,025 (EUR 553). Compared with the same month last year, average increased by 10.1% in nominal terms in May and by 6.3% in real terms, while average net salaries and wages increased by 10.4% in nominal terms and by 6.6% in real terms.
On a monthly comparison basis, the average net wage went down 0.4% in real terms in May, after declining by 1.6% in April. Median net salaries amounted to RSD 49,869 (EUR 424) in May.
