Serbia Retail Sales Decline in February

Serbia's retail sales, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles, decreased by a real 3.8% year-on-year in February, after a 1.8% annual growth a month earlier, data released by the Serbian Statistical Office (RBS) showed on Friday.
Sales of non-food products fall the most by 6% (vs -0.5% in January), while sales of food, beverages and tobacco decreased 5.3% (vs. -1.7%). Sales of automotive fuel rose 3% (vs. 14.3% in Jan).
On a month-on-month comparison basis, retail sales went down by 3.8% in February, following a 20.6% decrease in January. At current prices, February retail sales added 11.7% on the year and were 2.5% lower on the month.
A separate report from the Belgrade-based agency showed that industrial production in Serbia increased an annual 1.9% in February, after expanding by an annual 4.1% in January. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production increased 2.6% in February.
