Serbia inflation rises in May

Serbia's annual inflation rate jumped to 3.6% in May from 2.8% in the previous month, figures from the Belgrade-based Central Statistics Office (SORS) showed on Friday.

Transport prices increased the most, 9.6% year-on-year in May, while cost for housing & utilities rose by 4.9%. In addition, prices for food & non-alcoholic beverages added 2.4%.

On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices edged up 0.5%, following a 1.1% increase in April.

On month, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased the most by 1%.
