Romanian Jobless Rate Edges Down in June

Romania's unemployment rate fell to 5.3% in June, down compared to 5.4% the previous month, the Bucharest-based National Institute of Statistics (INS) said on Monday, citing provisional data.
The number of unemployed people fell to 439,900 in June from 451,000 in May.
The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 4.2%.
The percentage of unemployed people aged between 25 and 74 in the total number of unemployed was 74.4% in June.
Meantime, the jobless rate for men fell to its lowest in three months (5.8% vs 6%) while that for women stayed at its lowest since September 2021 (at 4.6%).
