This marked the 10th consecutive period of expansion, but the softest in sequence.

On a seasonally adjusted annual comparison basis, gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 2.1% in the Q3, compared to a 4.2% real growth in the third quarter of 2022, according to the Bucharest-based statistics agency.

On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the country's economy rose 0.4% in the Q3, decelerating from a revised 1.3% rise in the previous quarter.

A separate report showed, that Romania's industrial production in shrank 4.2% year-on-year in September, following a downwardly revised 5.2% decline in the previous month. It was the eleventh straight month of contraction. On a monthly basis, industrial output grew 0.7%, after being flat in August.
