Registered unemployment down in Romania

The unemployment rate in Romania was 2.76% at the end of October, 0.09 percentage points (p.p.) lower compared to the end of the previous month, local media reported quoting official data.

In October, last year the registered jobless rate was 3.27%. At the end of October this year, the total number of registered unemployed people was 241,540, 7,611 less than at the end of September, Wall-street.ro wrote as cited by news portal Romania-insider.

Most of the unemployed people are aged between 40 and 49 years (62,629), followed by those over 55 years of age (49,064), in contrast to the fewer unemployed people between 25 and 29 years old (11,581).
