Some 114,448 Hungarian citizens worked in Austria in July, which is a historical record, reports privatbankar.hu.

This is an increase of almost 1,000 people and was only surpassed by the increased number of Ukrainian workers.

Meanwhile, the combined total number of foreigners working in Austria decreased minimally.

The number of workers from Asia increased by 841 people in one month, while a total of 11,000 people came from Europe.

Meanwhile, the number of Austrian citizens in the labor market is stagnating.

According to the Austrian public service broadcaster ORF, at the beginning of 2022, 94,411 Hungarian citizens lived in Austria. Commuter workers were not included in this figure.

In the past 15 years, the number of Hungarian citizens in Austria has increased five and a half times.
