A record number of applicants were admitted to the Loránd Eötvös University (Elte), writes the business daily Világgazdaság.
Elte accepted a total of 12,225 applicants for its courses, of whom 9,620 will study full-time, 2,416 will study by correspondence, and 189 will study in the evening.
Some 85% of freshers, or 10,396 people, can continue their studies with state scholarships.
The unbroken popularity of the university also affects its subunits; for example, the number of students at the Elte Savaria University Center in Szombathely has been continuously increasing since 2019, but this year it shot up by 26%.
