Real Earnings Fell by 3.4% in June

The gross average salary of full-time employees was HUF 566,800 in June, 16% higher than a year earlier, according to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH). 

The regular gross average earnings (without premiums, bonuses, or one-month special benefits) is estimated at HUF 525,300, which is 14.9% higher than a year earlier. 

The regular gross average earnings in the private sector amounted to HUF 531,000, in the public sector to HUF 503,200, and in the non-profit sector to HUF 532,100, rising by 15.9%, 12.8%, and 10.7 %, respectively, in one year.

The net average salary without discounts reached HUF 376,900, and with discounts taken into account, it reached HUF 390,900, 16% and 15.9% higher than in June 2022. 

Real earnings decreased by 3.4%, in addition to the 20.1% increase in consumer prices compared to the sa me period of the previous year.
