Polish wages up on year in Q1

The average monthly wage in Poland in the first quarter of this year rose by 9.7% compared with the same quarter of 2021, the country's Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on Wednesday.

The average gross monthly wage in the first quarter of 2022 was PLN 6,235.22 (EUR 1,336), the Warsaw-based statistics agency said.

The figure was 4% up on the final quarter of last year, according to the office.

Polish inflation stood at 12.3% in year-on-year in April, hitting the highest level this century, according to a flash estimate released by GUS at the end of last month.
