Polish employment, avg gross wages up in January

Corporate employment in Poland rose by 2.3% year-on-year to 6.460 million people in January, picking up from a 0.5% rise in the previous month, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in a statement Friday.
On a monthly basis, employment rose 1.5% in January, following no significant change during the previous month.
A separate report from the Warsaw-based statistics agency shows, that Poland's average gross wages and salaries in the enterprise sector rose an annual 9.5% to PLN 6,064.24 (some EUR 1,340) in January.
On a monthly basis, average gross wages decreased 8.7% in January.
