Poles abroad sent EUR 830 mln in remittances to Poland

In the first quarter of 2021, as much as EUR 830 million in remittances was sent to Poland by Poles abroad, while foreigners working in Poland sent back a total of EUR 1.09 billion in remittances, balance of payments issued by the National Bank of Poland, showed on Tuesday.

Polish short-term migrants sent EUR 240 million (29.3% of the total) and long-term migrants sent EUR 590 million (70.7%). In a year-on-year comparison bases, the overall amounts of remittances in 2021 was EUR 22 million larger.
