Poland inflation rises further in April

Poland's consumer price inflation rose to 12.4% in April from 11% in March, figures from the Warsaw-based Central Statistical Office (GUS) showed on Friday.
Transport costs grew the most, by 21.1% annually in April, while prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased 19.5%.
Cost for food and on-alcoholic beverages gained 12.7%, and the same for restaurants and hotels rose 14.1%.
Price for recreation and culture, and furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance increased by 9.3% and 8.6%, respectively.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 2.0% in April after a 3.3% growth in the prior month.
