Poland Inflation Rate Further Eases in November

Poland's annual inflation rate eased to 6.5% in November, from 6.6% in the previous month, preliminary estimates from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) showed on Thursday.

This marks the lowest reading since September 2021, as prices eased for food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.2% vs 7.9% in October), electricity, gas & other fuels (7.9% vs 8.3%) and continued to decline for fuels for personal transport equipment (-5.7% vs -14.4%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.7% in November. Separate report from the Warsaw-based statistics agency showed, that Poland's gross domestic product (GDP) grew slightly more than initially estimated.

The country's economy rose 1.5% sequentially in the third quarter, faster than the 0.3% increase in the second quarter. In the flash report, the rate of expansion was 1.4%.
