Poland employment rate, avg gross wages rise in May

Poland's corporate employment rose 2.7% from a year earlier to 6.339 million people in May, following a 0.9% increase in the previous month, figures from the Warsaw-based Central Statistical Office (GUS) showed on Friday.
It was the fastest rise in corporate employment since July of 2019, as the economy gradually recovers from the COVID-19 crisis.
On a monthly basis, corporate employment edged up 0.3%.
The country's corporate sector wages meanwhile climbed by 10.1% year-on-year to PLN 5,637 per month in May, another report from GUS show.
On a monthly basis, average gross wages slightly increased, by 0.3%, compared to the previous month.
