Poland's annual inflation rate was confirmed at 10.1% in August, easing from 10.8% in the previous month and marking the lowest rate since February 2022.
Main downward pressures came from the slowdown in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (12.7% vs 15.6% in July), housing and utilities (12% vs 13.8%), and recreation and culture (10.9% vs 12.1%), final data from the Warsaw-based Central Statistics Office (GUS) show.
In addition, costs continued to decline for transport (-1.7% vs -8.5%), largely due to lower prices of fuels for personal transport equipment.
On a monthly comparison basis, the consumer prices (CPI) stalled, following a 0.2% fall in July.
