Pensions to rise by 5% in 2022
Pension payments will rise by 5% in January, more than the previously planned 3% raise, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Monday in Hungary's Parliament, answering questions from MPs, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The government will soon publish an official decree on the decision, Orbán said.
The government decided to raise pensions by a higher amount after the National Bank of Hungary forecasted 5% inflation on average for 2022, he added.
