Number of jobseekers reaches 261,757 in July

The number of registered jobseekers in Hungary reached 261,757 in July, 3,740 fewer than in the previous month, according to data released by the National Employment Service (NFSZ).
State news agency MTI reports that the number of registered jobseekers was 103,998 lower than in the same month a year earlier.
The data showed 4,136 Hungarians registered as jobseekers for the first time during the month.
The total number of new jobseeker registrations, including repeat registrations, reached 32,117.
Around 45% of registered jobseekers received no jobseekers' allowance or social assistance in June. About 36% had been seeking work for longer than a year.
The average period jobseekers were registered stood at 445 days.
