Number of deaths up 2.5% y.o.y. in February
The number of deaths in Hungary rose 2.5% year-on-year to 11,024 in February, the Central Statistical Office said in a monthly report.
The increase is adjusted for the extra day in the base period: February in a leap year. Without the adjustment, the number of deaths fell by 1% or 116.
Around 2,500 people died of COVID-19 in February, according to data on the government's official coronavirus news website koronavirus.gov.hu.
