Number of April deaths drops from high 3rd wave base
The number of deaths in Hungary fell 30% year-on-year in April, albeit from a high base during the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, state news wire MTI reports, citing data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH).
The data show 10,852 people died in April, 4,726 fewer than in the same month a year earlier.
KSH noted that the number of April deaths was 5.6% higher than in the same month in 2019.
