N. Macedonia annual inflation rate rises in May

North Macedonia's average annual consumer price inflation quickened to 3% in May from 2.7% in April, the Skopje-based State Statistical Office (Makstat) said on Monday.
Main upward pressure came from cost of clothing & footwear (0.9% vs -0.6% in April) and health services (3.3% vs 3.1%), while inflation slowed for transports (9.6% vs 10.6%), food & non-alcoholic beverages (1.9% vs 4.1%) and housing & utilities (4.3% vs 4.4%).
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices increased by 0.7% in May, after rising at the same rate in April.
