Lithuania inflation increases in August

Lithuania's consumer price inflation rose 5.3% year-on-year in August, following a 4.7% increase in July, figures from Vilnius-based Statistics Lithuania (LS) show.
Housing, water, electricity, gas and other increased 13.7% yearly in August.
Transport cost grew 9.6% and hotels, cafes and restaurants surged 5.9%.
Prices for furnishing, household equipment and routine maintenance of houses, and education gained by 5.7% and 4.3%, respectively. On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices grew 0.4% in August, following a 0.7% rise in the prior month.
