Latvia Producer Prices Rise in October

Producer prices in Latvia declined 9% year-on-year in October, falling for the fourth consecutive month, after an upwardly revised 7.9% drop in September, data from the Riga-based Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) showed on Wednesday.

This marks the largest slump in nearly 14 years, as costs continued to fall sharply for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-26.5% vs -26.2% in September) and also declined at a faster pace for manufacturing (-5.5% vs -3.6%).

Moreover, prices slowed down for mining & quarrying (6.3% vs 9.2%) and water supply, sewage & waste management (4.5% vs 9.7%).

On a monthly comparison basis, producer prices dropped by 1.6% in October, following a downwardly revised 0.6% increase in September.
