KSH: Hungary’s external trade surplus drops to €687 mln in November

Hungary’s external trade surplus decreased by €22 million in year-on-year terms in November, to €687 mln, with the export volume growing by 8.4% and the import volume increasing by 11.2%, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) said today.

The value of exports amounted to €8.1 billion and that of imports to €7.4 bln, KSH said, adding that exports increased by 6.9% and imports by 7.9% in euro terms.

In November, the volume of machinery and transport equipment rose by 11% in exports and 9.4% in imports; the export and import volumes of manufactured goods were up 8.1% and 14%, respectively; the import volume of fuels and electric energy increased by 17%; and the export and import volumes of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 7.4% and 5.3%, respectively, KSH said.
