Insurers' Premiums Revenue Climbs 7% in 2022

Hungarian insurers' revenue from premiums rose 7.4% to HUF 1.428 trillion last year, data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Monday show.
Revenue from premiums on life insurance policies edged up 1% to HUF 609 bln. Revenue from premiums on general insurance policies rose 12.7% to HUF 819 bln.
Revenue from premiums on compulsory vehicle insurance increased 7.9% to HUF 275 bln, while revenue from premiums on comprehensive vehicle policies rose 13.3% to HUF 136 bln. Revenue from premiums on farm policies climbed 50.9% to HUF 27 bln.
Insurers' after-tax profit fell 56.6% to HUF 36 bln last year as a windfall profit tax weighed.
