Hungary to Start Census in October
A general census will be carried out in Hungary between October 1 and November 28, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Monday, state news wire MTI reports.
Hungarians will have the option of filling out an online survey between October 1 and October 16. Households without a completed survey will be visited by a census counting officer.
Data collection will be carried out at the same time throughout the country, with the same content, and on a uniform methodological basis. Participation in the census is mandatory.
The census was originally scheduled to take place in May 2021 but was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Censuses have been conducted in Hungary generally every 10 years since 1870.
