Hungary farm gate price climb 13.4% in October

Farm gate prices in Hungary rose 13.4% year-on-year in October, slowing from a 16.9% increase in September, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.
Crop prices rose 12.0% during the period. Grain prices were up 14.7%, well under the 26.6% increase in the previous month, and industrial crop prices jumped 27.0%. Potato prices fell 36.9%. Fruit prices rose 6.4%.
Livestock and animal product prices climbed 15.9%. The price of cattle for slaughter jumped 49.0%, hog prices were up 16.5% and poultry prices increased 16.2%. Egg prices were little changed but the price of milk was up 12.6%.
In January-October, farm gate prices rose 23.5% from the same period a year earlier. Crop prices were up 28.9%, including a 42.6% rise in the price of grain, and livestock and animal product prices increased 14.4%.
