Figures

Some 43 small- and medium-sized associations in northern Hungary received support from the HUF 500 million allocated in the eighth phase of the Hiszek Benned Sports Program of the National Association of Sports Associations (Sosz), according to profitline.hu.

"The National Association of Sports Associations is a big team, made up of 900 sports associations, 6,000 coaches, and 210,000 athletes," DVTK quoted Tamás Deutsch, president of the Sosz, in a press conference about the signing of the contracts.

"In the most recent tender round, we were able to make great progress, we were able to distribute a total of HUF 500 mln, which is almost double the amount of the second largest tender. This year, this amount was divided into two parts, HUF 450 mln is available for small- and medium-sized associations, while HUF 50 mln in a newly announced tender form is for organizations wishing to enter the priority rural sports association program," Deutsch, who is also an MEP (Fidesz) since 2009 explained.
