Hungary's Competition Office (GVH) on Tuesday said it launched a series of consultations with economic players with the aim of highlighting the importance of fair competition in an effort to reduce inflation, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The first talks were held with the heads of the Hungarian Bakery Association, who said uncertainty and the unpredictability of costs are the sector's biggest challenges. They added that access to high-level information and forecasts could help businesses in trouble, as could tenders for subsidies.
The six-month series of consultations will help GVH get a clearer picture of market trends and economic conditions, the office said.
