Companies Borrow HUF 111 bln From Local Banks

Non-financial companies borrowed a net of HUF 111 billion from local banks in April, according to monthly data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) this week.

Corporate lending stock, including subscriptions of corporate bonds, stood at HUF 13.773 trillion at the end of the month.

Companies made net deposits of HUF 428 bln in their accounts at Hungarian banks during the month, lifting the corporate deposit stock to HUF 16.171 tln.

The average interest rate on forint business loans, up to the equivalent of EUR 1 million, stood at 10.04% in April, down from 10.92% in March and 15.78% in April 2023.
