Bulgaria's avg gross monthly wage grows in Q1

The average gross monthly wage in Bulgaria increased by an annual 11% to BGN 1,462 (EUR 747) in the first quarter of 2021, the Sofia-based National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement on Friday.
On a quarterly comparison basis, the average gross monthly wage added 1.7% in Q1.
The highest average wage, of BGN 3,613 (EUR 1,847), was registered in the information and communication sector, followed by financial and insurance business with BGN 2,188.
The lowest gross wage of BGN 717 (EUR 367) was recorded in the sector of accommodation and food services. On an annual comparison basis, the average monthly wages in the public sector and the private sector went up by 17.2% and 8.8%, respectively.
