Bulgaria jobless rate falls to record low in August

Bulgaria's registered unemployment rate fell to a fresh record low of 4.9% in August, from 5.0% in the previous month, the Employment Agency said on Wednesday.

On an annual comparison basis, the jobless rate fell by 2.6 percentage points, from 7.5% in August 2020.

In August, there were 160,707 registered unemployed people, 4,427 less compared to July 2021 and 34.6% less than in August 2020. There were 16,276 job vacancies registered with labor offices in August, 3.7% more on a monthly comparison basis and 9.8% fewer year-on-year.
