The average gross hourly pay rate for skilled and unskilled blue-collar workers in Hungary stood at HUF 1,407 in the first quarter, up 4% from the same period a year earlier, state news wire MTI reports, citing an analysis by staffing company Trenkwalder and consultancy Moore Hungary.
While workers in the north and southwest of the country, and in the Great Plains region, were paid under HUF 1,300 per hour, the hourly rate in the capital climbed over HUF 1,900.
The analysis was based on wage data from close to 7,000 workers.
From February 1, the gross hourly statutory minimum wage in Hungary is HUF 1,259 for skilled laborers and HUF 963 for unskilled workers.
