Avg Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Premium Climbs 8%

Hungarian motorists paid HUF 47,333 for their annual compulsory vehicle insurance premium, on average, in the fourth quarter, 8% more than in the same period a year earlier, a report by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) shows.
Motorists in Budapest paid higher premiums: an average HUF 66,444.
The average premium for individual policies covering taxis stood at HUF 142,709 and the rate for trucks was HUF 73,998 both 9% higher than a year earlier.
There were 4,037,879 compulsory vehicle insurance policies in Hungary during the period.
MNB noted that payouts on compulsory vehicle insurance policy claims increased by 13% during the period.
