August retail sales rise revised slightly down

Figures

Retail sales in Hungary rose a calendar year-adjusted 1.4% year-on-year in August after climbing 1.3% in the previous month, a second reading of data published by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Friday shows.

The August increase was revised slightly down from 1.4% and the July increase was slightly upped from 1.2% in a preliminary report published on October 3. Retail sales fell 0.3% from July according to calendar and seasonally adjusted figures.

Both food sales and non-food sales rose a calendar-adjusted 1.2% from August 2012.

In a seasonally- and calendar-adjusted month-on-month comparison, sales of both segments were unchanged after rising 0.8% and 0.6%, respectively, in July.
