April retail sales up 4.1% yr/yr

Retail sales rose a calendar year-adjusted 4.1% year-on-year in April, after a 6.2% increase in March, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Friday. April retail sales in Hungary rose 0.1% from March, according to seasonally and working day adjusted data. Retail sales totalled Ft 477.8 billion in April at current prices, up from 448.5 billion a year earlier. In the first four months this year, retail sales increased a calendar year adjusted 5.7% year-on-year in volume terms and totalled Ft 1,673.6 billion at current prices. In line with EU methodology, the figures do not include sales of vehicles, vehicle parts or fuel. (NG 2)
