976 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 109,405, with 976 new cases and 95 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 11,615.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 354,252 up from 353,276 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 233,232.

Currently, 4,218 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 294 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 2,984,748 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 20,170 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 66,138. Pest County is the second most affected, with 44,065 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (20,006 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 27,372.

Some 130,318 people have been vaccinated until Tuesday night, and 2,939 of them have already received the second dose as well.
