9,637 new COVID cases registered, death toll surpasses 19,000

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 196,553, with 9,637 new cases and 272 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.
The death toll stands at 19,224.
The total number of confirmed cases stands at 603,347 up from 593,710 yesterday.
The number of recoveries has risen to 387,570.
Currently, 11,760 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,467 of whom are on ventilators.
So far 4,403,317 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 54,422 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.
Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 114,552. Pest County is the second most affected, with 84,190 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (34,578 cases).
The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 54,377.
Until now, 1,747,519 people have been vaccinated, and 524,604 of them have already received the second dose as well.
