9,444 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 141,307, with 9,444 new cases and 163 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 16,790.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 507,627 up from 498,183 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 349,530.

Currently, 8,897 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 989 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 4,034,635 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 46,249 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 96,594. Pest County is the second most affected, with 68,460 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (29,288 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 49,381.

Until now, 1,293,414 people have been vaccinated, and 377,343 of them have already received the second dose as well.
