8,637 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 242,144, with 8,637 new cases and 242 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.
The death toll has increased to 21,504.
The total number of confirmed cases stands at 679,413 up from 670,776 yesterday.
The number of recoveries has risen to 415,601.
Currently, 11,383 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,437 of whom are on ventilators.
Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 126,790. Pest County is the second most affected, with 95,323 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (38,527 cases).
So far 4,726,187 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 55,056 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.
The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 58,722.
According to the website, a total of 2,235,731 people have been vaccinated until today, with 891,002 of them receiving a second dose as well.
