8,370 new COVID cases registered over last 3 days

Some 8,730 new COVID cases were registered in Hungary between February 25-27, bringing the total number of identified infections since the start of the epidemic to 1,787,544, according to data by koronavirus.gov.hu.

Some 197 people died between Friday and Sunday due to COVID-related causes, bringing the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic to 43,949.

The number of recovered persons has reached 1,588,843, and the number of active infections now stands at 154,752.

A total of 3,615 patients infected with coronavirus are hospitalized, 132 of them are on ventilators. 

The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,394,379, of whom 6,168,926 have already had their second vaccination and 3,809,703 have already had their booster jabs.
