7,706 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary


The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 152,296, with 7,706 new cases and 131 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site

The death toll stands at 17,083.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 524,196 up from 516,490 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 354,817.

Currently, 9,300 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,008 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 4,104,415 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 45,605 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 100,074. Pest County is the second most affected, with 71,373 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (30,299 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 50,422.

Until now, 1,334,595 people have been vaccinated, and 398,962 of them have already received the second dose as well.
