7,325 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 262,574, with 7,325 new cases and 285 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll has increased to 22,966.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 705,815 up from 698,490 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 420,275.

Currently, 11,363 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,364 of whom are on ventilators.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 130,852. Pest County is the second most affected, with 98,828 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (39,571 cases).

So far 4,861,310 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 46,775 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine. 

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 61,563.

According to the website, a total of 2,689,102 people have been vaccinated until today. The number of those who have received a second dose as well has increased to 1,126,139.
