7,263 new COVID cases registered, death toll exceeds 20,000

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 221,002, with 7,263 new cases and 189 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.
The death toll has increased to 20,161.
The total number of confirmed cases stands at 641,124 up from 633,861 yesterday.
The number of recoveries has risen to 399,961.
Currently, 12,291 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,497 of whom are on ventilators.
So far 4,557,943 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 55,511 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.
Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 120,873. Pest County is the second most affected, with 89,803 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (36,684 cases).
The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 56,179.
Until now, 1,920,347 people have been vaccinated, and 689,392 of them have already received the second dose as well.
