6,201 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 114,632, with 6,201 new cases and 108 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 15,873.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 466,017 up from 459,816 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 335,512.

Currently, 7,445 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 778 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,850,623 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 44,217 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 87,832. Pest County is the second most affected, with 60,882 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (26,690 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 47,119.

Until now, 981,401 people have been vaccinated, and 307,573 of them have already received the second dose as well.
